You may have read the Federalist, either in school, or for personal study. You may have not; however, read it's counterpoint, The Anti-Federalist Papers. Of note, Alexander Hamilton was a leading voice of Anti-Federalism, until for political reasons he changed his views following the success of Federalism in the Constitutional Convention.
